As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

Client can choose the amount of keywords that they want to “compete” for or “get enhanced placement” with. Typical is anywhere from 5, 10, 15 or 20 keywords.
The following is a list of steps performed as part of your SEO Package. Depending on the amount of keywords will depend on the actual steps performed. This is a standard list for 10 keywords.

You will receive a report that looks like this with your keywords in the keywords column:
The column entitled “avg. monthly searches” are the number of searches/traffic performed in Canada of people searching for those keywords. The “competition” column is the number of websites or pages that have these keyword pages on them.
So typically the art and science of SEO is to not go after too high of a competition ranking as this will take longer to get results with that keyword phrase.
We would take the keywords with low competition so that we can rank them quickly and get traffic to the website.
